For Candidates:

Step 1:
Get on the ballot and file all proper paperwork as required by the Virginia Department of Elections.

Step 2:
(Optional) Attend a Candidate Info Session

April 24th at 7:30PM & May 18th at 1PM at the Fairfax City Library

Step 3:
Fill out the Application for Endorsement Form by June 18th, 2024 at 11:59pm.

Step 4:
Attend the CFDC Members Candidate Forum

Benefits of Endorsement

  • Appearance on the CFDC sample ballot 

  • Appearance on any CFDC joint literature with other endorsed candidates

  • Appearance on any CFDC signage at the polling place

  • Appearance on any joint mail/postcard campaign (budget dependent)

  • Appearance on any joint digital advertisements (budget dependent)

  • Appearance on any joint texting campaign (budget dependent)

Expectations of Endorsed Candidates

  • You will be expected to distribute the CFDC sample ballot and/or joint literature at polling places and door- to-door.

  • You will be expected to participate in the coordinated campaign for CFDC candidates, including attendance at two or more CFDC coordinated campaign canvass launches, fundraisers, or other events.

  • You will be expected to contribute funds into the coordinated campaign for CFDC candidates (budget dependent). This contribution will help pay for joint literature, mailings, sample ballots, and signage, and other direct campaign expenses (ads, banners, etc.).

Conditions of Endorsement

  • Any endorsement of the committee is conditional, and CFDC reserves the right to rescind an endorsement if they see fit.

For Voters:

Membership:
Membership in the City of Fairfax Democratic Committee is required for participation in the caucus. Voters who wish to participate in the caucus must return a completed application for membership by May 29th, 2024. Additionally, the membership must be approved by the committee in accordance with the DPVA's Party Plan.

Voting:
The caucus will take place on June 29, 2024 from 2pm-4pm. The location of the caucus will be announced by May 1. If you are not able to attend the caucus in-person, you must request an absentee ballot from the Chair of CFDC by June 6th.

Candidate Info:
All completed candidate questionnaires will be published to members no later than June 20, 2024. All CFDC committee members will have the opportunity to attend and ask questions at the CFDC Members candidate forum (Date TBD).
